Carole Bouquet denies role in Goblet of Fire

A few weeks ago on February 1, we reported here on Wizard News that the movie web site Coming Soon! quoted French magazine Studio as saying that Mike Newell had cast French actress Carole Bouquet in an unknown part for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Today, Australian fan web site Harry Potter Fan Zone is reporting that tonight on the Césars on French TV (which is like the French Oscars), Carole Bouquet appeared. Just before the ceremony began, she gave a short interview to Canal+ TV in which she said Mike Newell wanted her to play Madame Maxime in Goblet of Fire, but that the studios were against this decision. So, that officially disproves this rumor.

Carole Bouquet and Gerard Depardieu

Carole Bouquet is the wife of Gerard Depardieu. She was born in 1957 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, and has been in many movies in France since 1977.
